4. Meditation

Meditation is usually done in quite but I practiced some speaking meditation which I felt connected with my previous meditation of inner and outer awareness. Using focus on my voice and inner and outer awareness, I discovered new sensations of communicating and expressing with my voice and connecting it to my body and allowing emotions to fall in place. When I was focused on my voice and what I was trying to say with the image of someone listening to see if I was real or acting, I felt the great sea of subtleties in my voice. Each word can be expressed with so many subtle nuances that say something specific and together they are like a painted picture thrust forward into the mind of the listener. I felt that the nuances were so varied and there was so much room in speech to play that it was easy to get caught into letting the emotions create the nuances naturally but this fell into a generalized trap. Thinking of intentions and ways to convince or ways to express let me use my voice with more diversity and if i opened myself, emotions would come subtly and naturally with the expression of my voice as long as I stayed focused on truly using my voice and body to say something as if I needed to convince someone listening that I was for real and not acting. It may be a similar trap to focus on your voice too much because the emotions and true meaning get lost. Focus on the intent, the goal is vital and openess to be affected is like a switch you turn on as you pursue using your voice to get your goal. Use your voice and stay relaxed, even as you convey anger using your voice, stay relaxed and focus on showing the true inflexion which you have observed in life and you will not feel blocked. This sounds like a disconnected way to approach acting but it will allow you to play freely and the emotions come afterwards if you are free and you use your voice well.

4. Meditation

I did some short meditation inspired by Christine’s blog on meditation. I realized that focus goes inward and outward in different ways. Intense focus on breathing and feeling is a start, only when I start to add the awareness of my enviornment do i realized there is a whole new level of being that I can be mindful of. There is much concentration and relaxation required for me to feel what is going on in just these 2 states. I guess this is 2 levels. I heard there are at least 7!

5. Random Acts of Kindness

I have started returning the favor of telling quast to break his leg. he has not missed one night to tell me this, so i think he is very superstitious and would appreciate the wish.
